Ten individuals sentenced of cyber-bullying against Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has found guilty ten people for carrying out the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The defendants faced charges of spreading false claims regarding her gender and sexuality, in addition to making malicious remarks about the couple's significant age difference.
The court delivered suspended jail terms of as much as eight months to the perpetrators. The complete verdict has not yet been published.
A circulating false narrative alleging that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has been in circulation since her husband's initial election in 2017.
This Monday's court decision in France coincides with the Macrons initiating a libel case in the United States against political commentator Candace Owens, who has likewise promoted analogous false narratives about the Brigitte Macron's gender.
Their legal filing contends that Owens brushed aside all credible evidence disproving her claim choosing instead to amplify the voices of notorious conspiracy peddlers.
Owens has frequently reiterated these allegations on her show and online platforms, and in March 2024 stated that she would bet her whole career on her conviction that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.
Brigitte Macron first met her now-husband when she was a teacher at his high school.
The two tied the knot in 2007, when the future French president was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
